Art & Wine

A fabulous night out with some amazing, beautiful people! Casa Rodriguez, Evening of the Arts, Uncorked and ice cream. How can you go wrong? Sometimes I feel so lucky to have the people I have around me.

March for Equity

It is no secret that I believe in equity, social justice and acceptance of all people. I have spent the last 6 years of my life educating myself on issues of social justice, primarily within the GLBT community, and yet I can barely explain this to my parents. My dream job right now is to help run a GLBT center for students and community members seeking to find a home or place of their own and yet I am fearful to tell my parents this as I fear what their thoughts and judgments will be.

I will be hard-pressed to find a profession/position that will motivate me more right now than to bring change to this world and to the community I currently live in.

These pictures are from the National Equality March I participated in on October 11, 2009. This event was probably the most breathtaking, surreal, fulfilling moment of my life and one I cherish always. Here’s to change, advocacy, love and social justice.

Date Night

So I dog sat for my friend Edgar during Spring Break and as a thank you he asked me out on a little date night. We are going to La Riviera and then for some wine at Uncorked! Later tonight I'll be meeting with the other boys at Halo to sparkle glitter on the dance floor ;)

Missing the Frost

I wish it was still cold out.

Fresh Berries

I've been cooking more often and eating healthier foods. I love fresh berries so much and I want to cook this ASAP.

Be Free

Sometimes one just needs to remember to BREATHE and rediscover what is important. It is hard to remember that we only need ourselves in life, and we can only fully trust ourselves.

And then I remember how some of the people closest to me have saved me or have disappointed me. But still, I send them love and forgiveness and remember to always spread love and freedom.

I Want It

I love this. My mom would kill me.

I Feel Lucky

Spring Break was last week and I am feeling so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life. On Wednesday, Rolan and I went to the Houston Rodeo to see Miranda Lambert perform and learn about true Texas culture.
Here we are at the Reliant Stadium!
Thursday we went movie hopping and then played Bingo and sang karaoke at Halo. Rolan and I rocked out to "Kerosene" by Miranda Lambert and he won bingo twice! His family came in to town on Friday so we took them out to Halo and met up with Kevin.

Then Saturday we hit up Renaissance Fair again! It was so much fun! I'm so sad Spring Break is over....which means the school year is coming to a quick end.

25 and Young

So I turned 25! I had some of the best days of my life celebrating this birthday with the people who have been there for me and who I love so very much. We went to Cenare, Renaissance Fair and had a fabulous Mexican food Pot Luck. Life couldn't have been better :D

Jewelry Love

I am working on my "To Buy" list and found a need for a cute couture jewelry stand. Isn't this one adorable? I love finding adorable things on the internet and wonder why I never see things like this in College Station.

Cupcake Love!

I have found a new love of baking this year, especially cupcakes. It seems my friends enjoy my Snickerdoodle cupcakes the most so far. I show love by feeding people, something I have come to learn my own family. I think food brings people together which is why I plan so many Family Dinners and want my friends to feel like we are a family. I love to cook and actually almost went to culinary school. Sometimes I feel like dropping everything and moving in that direction again, but I have found ways to educate myself and try out recipes on these people I believe are my second family.

I need this today

I Love Clothes

i came out as a shopaholic about 3 years ago when i found myself in about $10,000 in credit card debt. i have never missed a payment, but i was definitely needing some self-reflection in regards to why i was spending so much money on materialistic goods.

i still have a problem, but i no longer blindly go shopping without regard to the effects it'll have on my bank account. nothing gives me more of a thrill then having a car full of shopping bags. i hate this part of myself but it is something i am working on.
